Peter Dakin

Peter has thirty years’ experience in Career Transition & Outplacement, Executive Search & Recruitment and Contracting. Following several successful years as a Partner with Cruickshank Management Resources, a leading human resources consulting firm, Peter established his own company, Dakin Management Group, specialising in Executive Contracting & Recruitment in Melbourne. He subsequently merged his business and became a pioneer and leading provider of Career Transition & Outplacement Services with outstanding success providing highly personalised services for executives, management and staff departing, or in redeployment, across government, private and not-for-profit organisations.

Similarly he has a proud history recruiting C -Suite executives and Board Directors for a well established client base across all sectors. Peter’s wealth of commercial and HR experience has afforded him the opportunity to develop a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the full range of interlinking human resources disciplines.

Peter holds qualifications in Accountancy and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC).

With strong sporting and community affiliations, Peter was a Committee Member of the Melbourne Cricket Club for 11 years, Past President of Kingston Heath Golf Club, the Rotary Club of Melbourne and Powerhouse Amateur Football Club. These appointments illustrate his extensive personal experience operating at Board and Director levels.

David Crow

David has been a Senior Consultant with Dakin Mayers since 2012. His ability to motivate and gain the confidence of individuals has been a significant factor in his success as a business leader and consultant. Combined with his comfortable friendly yet direct style he builds trust and rapport with his career transition and coaching clients enabling them to maximise the benefits of his support.

As a qualified Accountant, David has experience in a wide range of industry sectors including professional services, manufacturing, retail, distribution, sport, import and export, food and compliance within not-for-profit, private, public company and Government environments. He has worked in a variety of roles and uses his learnings from his general management/CEO, financial, sales, operations and marketing roles to add great value and understanding to his discussions with individuals he is assisting. With his support, David’s clients develop a pathway forward and a “career resilience” which will serve them well in the future and the opportunity to grow and flourish as individuals and team members as they progress through their working lives.

David has been providing one-on-one, tailored, highly personalised support to both Career Transition & Outplacement and Executive Coaching clients for several years. His Executive Coaching/Leadership Development training, combined with his own experiences, provide him with a wealth of knowledge of what works best for individuals in business, information which he readily shares.

Andrea Scotis

Possessing qualifications in Executive Secretarial Practices and a Diploma in Financial Markets Andrea has spent her career assisting individuals to make better use of their time and allowing executives to function more productively in their work environment. Her broad work experience includes retail, health, property development, mining and advertising industries, both government and private sectors, ASX listed and NFP organisations, financial services and legal.

As EA to Director, Peter Dakin, Andrea’s responsibilities include office management, supporting Senior Consultants in their Recruitment and Career Transition assignments and assisting CT participants with secretarial services.

Kerina Alter

Kerina has deep knowledge and skill in career coaching, training and change management. For 10 years she has been the Director of Altered Career, a consulting firm focused on change and transition projects and spent her career assisting individuals and businesses to be more successful.

With a fresh and flexible approach, she supports individuals of all ages, stages and levels in their career. Kerina coaches individuals & organisations moving through change and inspires people to realise their potential.

Her broad range of skills extends to assisting individuals who seek to improve their personal or professional performance, personal branding, further their leadership skills or plan their careers as they transition from one role to another, especially if they have been made redundant, retiring or returning to the workforce. She develops mentoring and leadership programs and conducts individual and group training over a broad selection of professional development topics.

Kerina spent eight years in corporate marketing roles at organisations like ANZ Bank and Victoria Police, prior to moving into coaching. She has coached over 2000 individuals and completed work for the Australian Ballet, Monash University, RACV, VicHealth, Youth Law, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, MLC Insurance, Red Energy and TAC just to mention a few. Having headed up the employee support program for Toyota when it shut down its R&D facility, Kerina is comfortable managing both small and large projects.

James Slade-Symons

James is an experienced board director, general manager and human resource consultant. His career has seen him work in Australia and the UK for leading ASX and FTSE brands, mid-tier boutiques and start-ups.
James applies contemporary and innovative business and HR practices which he uses to help organisations maximise their impact, efficiency and competitive performance. This approach is supported by his diverse exposure to a range of sectors, cultures and regions, which add depth and context to James’ consulting.
James is an organisational development specialist, who focusses on workforce design, alignment and capability uplift. During his career he has held HR leadership roles with Vodafone, Coles Myer and Chandler Macleod.
Whilst delivering change workshops, focus groups and communication activities, James led the change diagnostic and re-defined the strategic business and HR objectives for the following change projects:

• BHP (South 32 Restructure)
• Migas (National Restructure)
• Vodafone Global Enterprise (New-Entity formed from Vodafone Group)
• Queensland TAFE (Restructure due to market contestability)

His core area of expertise relates to business and HR data analysis, which he combines to yield deep organisational insight, producing objective and evidence-based change programs. James prides himself on being able to quickly generate and synthesise information, articulating practical and clear summaries.
